A day in the life of Morgan MacPherson

What a life she has. She went apple picking with her dad, aunt, uncle, cousins and Jaxen. She loved it and brought home a bag of apples that she won't even eat. I guess I'll have to learn to make applesauce and feed it to the babies.

She also loves to drink her milk when the triplets do. For 10-15 minutes it is quiet around our house because they are all drinking. It is a nice time.

Rachel is home and fitting right in!

Rachel is finally home. Well, actually she has been home for a week now and is doing fine. She sleeps most of the day (about 20 hrs) and is just now getting her nights and days figured out. The babies are curious and don't like the fact that she takes up Mommy's lap, but they are fine with her as long as she stays mostly out of reach. Morgan loves baby Rachel and is always checking on her to make sure she is okay, and will let Mommy know if she is crying. She does not like to hear her cry, but she loves to hold and help feed her. All in all, the fifth one hasn't been too bad, but we will see how it goes when she is starting to move around.

Rachel is almost ready to come home.

Rachel was back transfered to Holland Hospital today. Her breathing is much better and has pretty much resolved. Now they are waiting for her to build strength to eat like she should. She is currently eating about 1-1 1/2 teaspoon every three hrs, but she needs to eat 1-2 ounces. So now we are just waiting for her to eat on her own.

Rachel is off the CPAP Machine. Yeah!!!!!!

The MD's took Rachel off the CPAP machine today and she is doing well. Her sats drop occasionally so they may put her on some oxygen, but not back on CPAP. She is not eating yet and is still being tube fed, but they try and get her to nipple at each feeding. She is currently only getting 5 cc to make sure she doesn't vomit and aspirate on it. Hopefully she will be home soon, but only time will tell. Sorry no new pictures yet. I wanted to wait until some of the tubes and gadgets were off, so that you can really see what she looks like. Hopefully I can get some good ones tomorrow.

Morgan is so excited because she gets to go to preschool this year. It is a little early, but we have been blessed with good friends, who due to are unique circumstances, have worked it out so that she is able to start school a little earlier. She is so excited because she gets to make new friends and to leave Mommy's house. (She loves to go anywhere but mommy's house). I think it will be good for her to meet new kids and to have kids her own age to play with two days a week. I know if is tough on her to just have the triplets to play with all day.

Here she is just after being weighed and is a whopping 6 lbs 9 oz and is 19 inches long.

Well, Rachel Kamryn MacPherson is here. She was slow in coming but once she had it in her head to come out it was two pushes and she was here. Being a 36 week old preemie, she is having issues with her lungs. She has been diagnosed with Resperatory Distress Syndrome and has been placed on CPAP to make it easier for her to breath. An average baby takes 40-50 breaths per minute and she was taking 80. She was transfered to a neo natal unit about an hour away (mommy's having a hard time being seperated), but I talked with the MD today and she is doing much better and is relaxed and comfortable. Now we will pray that all will continue to go well and she will get to come home in a timely manner. We ask for your prayers as well and want to thank all for the help they have given us. Hope all is well with your families.
